Stop the Binge!

Binge drinking amongst women has been out of control since the millennium, an article by the Mail on line says that bars are to ban giving women free drinks.

Closer to home the recent Carnage that was to take place in Blackpool has been cancelled. This was due to people disagreeing with the idea of young people going out for a mass of binge drinking. The Lancashire Evening Post published an article of the call off.

Peter Callow, leader of Blackpool Council rubbished such accusations, but he believes the cancellation is "a victory for common sense".

Too Young, Too Thin!

Its amazing how children's health is such a huge concern in today's society. Whats more amazing is how there is the extremes of obese and anorexic children.

A Channel 4 documentary showed a young girl Dana, who at 8-years-old suffered badly from anorexia. The document followed her on a 12-week recovery programme at a specialist clinic.

What gives such young people the idea that being thin is important? When being healthy is much more important.

Healthy Kids!

Childrens health has always been a major concern. The issue of kids not being active enough has been an on going topic for years.

The Prince's Trust is running a project to help improve the fitness of young people, an article in the Lancashire Evening Post published.

They said that there are also a number of similar schemes happening with the help of a £100,000 donation from North Lancashire Primary Health Care Trust.

It is obviously important that young people are taught about being aware of the dangers of alcohol and drugs. Also, to learn about first aid and staying healthy.
